A Day at Lake Coeur d’Alene

If you’re not staying in the downtown area, parking is at a premium in 2013 due to construction around McEuen Park. The city has a downloadable PDF showing parking opportunities. A free shuttle is also available from Memorial Park off Northwest Blvd and from the City Hall parking lot off 8th and Front St.

8:00-9:00am  Start the day off with breakfast at a downtown eatery.

9:00-10:00am  See Lake Coeur d’Alene surroundings with Brooks Seaplanes located at the main dock at Independence Point.  Call ahead to book your flight, (208) 664-2842.

10:00am-4:00pm  There’s plenty to choose from along Coeur d’Alene’s waterfront.  Rent a Kayak from ROW Adventure Center at 2nd and Sherman Ave. and paddle to Tubbs Hill, around the Resort Marina or down the beach to the mouth of the Spokane River.  Not fast enough for you?  Call JAWS to set up a speedboat or waverunner rental.  Or see the lake from another view from above with Coeur d’Alene Parasail.  And you’ll still have time to enjoy catching some rays or take a swim from City Beach and Independence Point.

Don’t forget lunch!  Besides the snack stand at the Point, Paul Bunyan Drive-In is 2 blocks northwest of the Park across Northwest Blvd. or you can get goodies to go from Cricket’s Restaurant, Hudson’s Hamburgers, Calypso’s Coffee or other eateries off Sherman and Lakeside Avenues.

Evening:  Take a sunset dinner cruise on Lake Coeur d’Alene from the fleet of Coeur d’Alene Resort Lake Cruises.

Don’t forget your copy of The Guide to North Idaho tonight.  You’ll need to plan tomorrow!
